| Soul Retrieval is the shamanic term that refers to a psychological healing process that begins at the spiritual level. The Greek word for soul is "psyche," the root of our word "psychology." The Greeks say that soul is not the same as spirit; their word for spirit is "pneuma." Shamans describe the soul as the essential self that is unique and can't be replaced by anyone else's soul nor by spiritual energy. We live in a tough world, with lessons that at times seem overwhelming. Spirit understands this, and gives us a way to avoid the full impact of the pain of trauma, abuse, grief over the loss of a loved one, or longstanding hardship. That “way out” is to allow part of your soul (psyche) to split off from the rest of you and flee to spiritual dimensions. When it does this, it goes into “soul loss”, i.e., disconnecting from your physical, emotional and mental levels. That means you have no way of communicating with it or accessing the strengths it has. It often results in a dysfunctional way of life because you have to adapt to being less whole and having fewer strengths with which to work. When a soul part leaves, it can't come back on its own. It has to wait until you have more say over your life, and someone with soul retrieving ability can intervene on your behalf. Soul retrieval is a shamanic process that returns those parts to you. Soul Loss Symptoms: missing soul qualities such as compassion, decisiveness, joy; difficulty concentrating; pervasive fears; feeling less whole, fragmented or empty; addictions; feeling alienated from life, less alive or sleepwalking through life; co-dependence; long-term grief or depression; noticeably different after trauma; dissociation; psychological work without improvement; and being less able to express one's self in areas that used to be easy; difficulty acting on thoughts. Symptoms of Impending Soul Loss If any of these symptoms apply, part of your soul is seriously considering leaving right now! • Feeling unappreciated, even though people express appreciation of you. • Feeling that no matter what you do, your efforts are thwarted, even though intellectually you see success in your life. • Feeling like you want to move away from your town, in hopes that things will be better elsewhere. Yet you intellectually realize that things are ok here. • Sudden onset of depression, accompanied by any or all of the above 3 symptoms. • Feeling like you want to die, accompanied by any or all of the above 4 symptoms. (This one is a major "red flag" that soul loss is imminent. It is vital to get help at once!) Signs of Soul Stealing in Progress • Feeling irresistibly drawn to another person although your rational mind declares there is no compatibility and you just don't want to be with them. This also can be a signal of someone having your soul parts on them long after the actual stealing. • Feeling drained of energy after intense emotional expression with someone. • Feeling drained of energy when near the person or when you have thoughts of them. • These last two are a "big signal" that the soul stealing is going on right now! Focus on your own energy and pull it back away from the other person. Do NOTHING to the other person's energy; you don't want theirs contaminating yours. Signs of Others’ Soul Parts on You • You over-react to the other person’s actions or words. • The other person “pushes your buttons” easily. • You daydream about arguing with that person. • Anxiety feelings when others’ soul parts first come to you: like having more energy than you know what to do with. It may also feel like that person is actually there very close to you. • Feeling an inner contradiction to your values, beliefs, or wanting to take action. Paula's Story Paula, age 40, came to me hoping a soul retrieval would heal her depression. Her voice was listless and her movements stilted, reflecting the despair she had been feeling all her life. She said that nothing she had tried had worked: counseling, medication, prayer or meditation. I assisted her in retrieving two soul parts that left her at age five when her beloved Grandma died. One fled to be with her Grandma, the other left to try to retrieve the first one but couldn't find its way back. When Paula returned several days later for her first integration session, her voice had a lilt to it and her step was much lighter and more energetic. Her depression had lifted for the first time in decades. As she inwardly conversed with her soul parts, she found out that her depression was actually grief - grief for her Grandma and grief for the loss of her soul parts. Seven years later, that depression has never returned. The Soul Retrieval Process Spiritual dimensions are every bit as real as this physical dimension is. They merely have different ways of maneuvering through them. Using Shamanic Journeying to venture inward into spiritual dimensions, my spirit helpers and I retrieve the soul parts that can best heal what you request and help you integrate them into the totality of your being. This involves quickly and gently healing the pain or emptiness you want released, changing dysfunctional patterns into true (functional) ones, and fully accessing the new strengths the soul part brings you. Also involved is your paying attention to the soul part and consciously working with it and its strengths on a daily basis. The entire integration process may take as little as a few days, but usually no more than a month. Results of soul retrievals are often magical, transforming and so innate that we wonder how we could ever have had problems! Some examples: One woman bought a bicycle and immediately set up an exercise time with it. She later realized that she would never have done that without the help of her soul part; it was such a natural action. In another instance, a woman found herself spontaneously playing with her small child and enjoying the activity; before, she hadn't a clue of how to play. In my case, I found myself making decisions - major ones - easily and instinctively. Before the soul retrieval my pattern was to agonize interminably, finally be forced into making the decision and then worry endlessly about its rightness. The changes are so innate and instinctive that we often don't realize until after the fact that we are now doing what used to be difficult or impossible to do. This process may sound miraculous, but that's because our society has only recently considered working within spiritual dimensions in order to attain psychological healing. With Soul Retrieval, that inner improvement occurs more quickly and becomes permanent. Sandra Ingerman, author of SOUL RETRIEVAL, lays heavy emphasis on the necessity of follow-up work. She says, “The method of soul retrieval is pretty simple. Bridging the ancient practice of soul retrieval into a modern day psychologically sophisticated culture is not.” Here are the reasons for the difference: In tribal cultures, soul loss seldom lasted more than a few days without the shaman doing a soul retrieval. Full integration was immediate because the person didn’t have a chance to develop dysfunctions. In our modern culture, however, soul loss has often lasted for decades. Consequently, we've had to adapt to soul loss by adopting dysfunctional beliefs, attitudes and habits. These need healing during integration follow-ups. Doing soul retrievals and transformations for people throughout the Triad-Triangle regions of North Carolina since 1995, I've noticed my own soul parts' process and listened to tons of insights from Spirit. My Spirit Teachers have given me gentle yet speedy ways to heal. My clients noticeably benefit from these processes. Healing your soul loss issues and attaining complete compatibility between you and your soul parts occurs within two months, as opposed to a year or not at all, with less personal methods. Integration/Transformation Process Soul parts always fully integrate into your emotions and feelings during the soul retrieval itself. If you navigate life strictly by how you feel, you probably won't think anything has changed, even though loved ones notice a difference in how you handle situations. That's because the soul parts exude a feeling of deep familiarity with the traits they bring you. If you're open to your emotions, you may be in constant communication with your soul parts, or you'll think the transformation is complete as is. For example: One client came for her first follow-up one week after retrieval. Sitting down on my couch, she said, “I don't know why I'm here. I feel integrated! Since my soul retrieval, I've resigned from a job I hated and got another job I love. I've bought a house with lots of acreage so I can now take care of my horse in ways I deem right. I feel good!” As we talked about what each of her soul parts brought her, she suddenly realized that one of them had been very quiet. Focusing on it, fear welled up within her. The soul part brought her increased psychic and healing ability, which terrified her at a very deep level. Our transformation work uncovered and healed past-life and this-life causes of that fear. She now uses psychic abilities peacefully. If, however, you aren't comfortable with your emotions or if you repress parts of yourself, the soul parts can escalate your issues and you'll have problems even in areas of your life that used to run smoothly. You could have an ongoing stressful tug of war. If you do nothing with the soul parts, they could go into repeat soul loss...leaving you feeling worse than before the soul retrieval. At one of my lectures one man's eyes brimmed with painful grief as he described having gone through repeat soul loss. He had been given no follow-up and didn't know how to handle his soul parts. He felt worse off than before the retrieval! At an Expo, one woman described a six-month ongoing tug of war with a formidable soul part who wanted to do nothing but play. A single mother, she had to work long hours just to support her family and put one child through college. She talked seriously of quitting her high-paying job and doing tenuous free-lance work, to appease this soul part. Had she been my client, we'd have solved this internal struggle in one short session. Through understandings and methods Spirit has given me, the process is easy and rewarding. She would be able to keep her good job AND the soul part would express full creativity. Win-win. Regardless of which emotional situation is true of you, integration must also occur on those other levels of your being. This is easy, satisfying and complete, when done shamanically or through hypnotherapy. What good is it to have a bunch of soul parts, healed or not, come back and be loosely grouped inside you, some of them going dormant or becoming rebellious because they lack adequate attention? Part of Spirit's knowing what needs to happen includes: - Knowing and feeling new aspects of soul parts' spiritual traits. - Coordinating cooperatively with the soul parts in everyday life. - Releasing others' energies that are attached. - Changing limiting beliefs to functional ones. - Purifying the core of your true self. - Full soul immersion into you, like dye in water. One client, returning for her last segment of transformation, manifested her new strengths fully. However, she kept the soul parts as exterior guides, fearing their power. In our session, they purified the core of her being. She cried in joy at the shear magnificence of their universal scope, She knew she wouldn't misuse their power. Early in my experience of this work, Spirit said that soul retrieval itself plays only a minor part in our inner healing. What is actually important is for us to get to know ourselves, and to reintegrate in a way that every part of our being knows beyond a shadow of doubt that we are an unsullied expression of the Light of Highest Spirit. Full transformative immersion of all soul parts is crucial to attaining this. We aware ones are gathering our forces together fully and cohesively, so that the Light Forces can usher this planet into the Golden Age of the New Millennium. Your Choice of Soul Retrieval Styles There are now 3 ways in which you can receive a soul retrieval from me. (1) Spontaneously, via regression therapy, shamanic healing or aura cleansing session in which the Archangels Michael and Raphael clear and heal your aura and inner being. The soul retrieval can’t be planned nor asked for, because it is exclusively “in the hands” of the regression process or the Archangels’ knowledge of what will best help you at the time. Follow-up: If a soul part is returned during the session, there may be a need for a follow-up “integration” session... but only as the situation or Archangels stipulate that. After the session, you will have to attend to the soul part and its needs on your own, regardless. (2) You can ask for the retrieval of whatever soul part(s) are most ready to return and that you are most ready to receive. This form of soul retrieval takes no advance preparation, as in learning to shamanic journey, nor do we talk much about what you want to achieve with the work. In fact, the less we converse ahead of time, the better it is. Usually, the soul parts that return are ones that left more recently in your life. Follow-up: There does need to be a follow-up session or two. That formal integration work can be done within a light-trance state wherein you consciously interact with the soul part to bring about a deeper blending of it and you. You will need to attend to the soul part and its needs on your own, between and after sessions. (3) You can ask for the retrieval of soul parts that directly address your healing needs, whether that’s to fill a “hole” in your being or feelings, or to bring back soul parts that will give you spiritual qualities you know are missing. Usually, the soul parts that return are from very early in your life and may well be “core soul parts.” Core parts are the ones that left first, opening up the way for other soul parts to leave later, as need be. Healing the core parts usually heals the core cause of your specific issue and allows previous work to “kick in” more strongly and effectively. Follow-up: For this style of soul retrieval, I ask you to learn how to shamanic journey so that you have the ability to communicate in depth with the soul parts no matter whether they express dynamically or subtly. You will be able to do a lot of the work at home, also access the soul parts more deeply and surely within our sessions, enlist the aid of your true spirit guides, and know the truth of all that you perceive inwardly. You will need to attend to the soul part and its needs on your own, between and after sessions. PREPARATION FOR STYLE #3 It is important to the integration process for you to have intimate contact with your spirit guides. By "intimate" I mean that you can ask a question you don't know the answer to and within minutes obtain a detailed and profoundly true answer to it. If you can do this, you have an avenue whereby you can contact your soul parts and do a lot of the healing of yourself (and them) on your own. This depth of internal work is crucial in healing subtleties that often get missed during daily activity. If you are not in intimate contact with your guides, I can teach you this. In shamanic terms this contact is called "journeying." In most cases it's better to learn journeying before you get a soul retrieval. Your attention needs to be on the soul parts from "minute one" rather than having to contend with them at the same time that you're trying to learn the journeying process. In other words, it's just easier on you that way. THE SOUL RETRIEVAL FOR STYLES #2 & 3 A soul retrieval takes about two hours. This includes a short interview, the soul retrieval itself, and my instruction afterwards. Most of the time spent on the retrieval journey is devoted to healing the soul parts of negative emotions, dysfunctional attitudes, karma of past-lives, detrimental influence from other people, and more. The soul parts should add to your healing, not to your problems. Each person's experience is different, so I can't promise exact minutes nor what is entailed in the healing portion; it takes what it takes. FOLLOW-UP FOR ALL 3 STYLES Your attention to your soul parts and your intention to make positive changes are integral to your full healing. To help you acclimate to the unique needs of the soul after the retrieval, it is imperative to have the first follow-up session within seven days of the soul retrieval. Soul Transformation follow-up sessions vary in length from one to two hours, depending upon need, what transpires within the session, and how easily you work with your soul part on your own. Some soul retrievals need only two hours of follow-up in order to attain full soul transformation and vibrancy of its beauties and qualities. Others need additional sessions. Style 1 usually needs the least amount of follow-up. Style 2 needs 1 or 2 short sessions. Style 3, while usually requiring 2 full sessions or more, heals core issues more fully and readily than the other styles do. Soul Retrieval from Someone Else? I am willing to help you, who have received soul retrievals elsewhere, complete your soul transformation. My top priority is for you to achieve full access to the soul part’s beauties and to release anything that would block this. |
